|McClure & Reece Family
|Do you know them?
|Taken at the Manchester Road home
of Vallie McClure-Reece and Zeb
|An Old Union (County GA) school
photograph - can you identify anyone?
|Masonic Lodge @ Pine Log. - Are there any relatives here? Uncle
Alvin says Rev. JV is on the right - working on verifying that.
|Boxing - 1950s ?
or went to West
uniforms, that's the
campus - don't
know who was
leaving on that
bus. But all these
photos were taken
at the same time.
Same paper. etc.
|Two children, Although the photo
is dated May 1964, it is believed
to be an earlier picture of Alvin
(at about 2 yrs old) seated in the
chair and Faye Evans (Birdie
Reece' daughter) Taken more
|January 1965 North Carolina - home
of Zeb and Vallie Reece
|Written on the back it says - 1967, Bill
when he was home the past Feb. But
|This fellow came to Vivian Reece's 26th
birthday party in 1967 but who is he?
|Well, that's Zeb Reece in the
background on the right. It's at Pine
Log Cemetery, other photos taken
around the same time show they are
paying respects to their parents and
grand parents. But no idea who this is.
- Process of elimination says she is
one of Vallie McClure Reece's sisters.
|Someone must know who she is.
|One of Zeb and Vallie Reece's grand
children - maybe Claudette or Cindy
|If this isn't the same little girl, then they are sisters. Anyone
know who they are? Most likely Zeb Reece grandaughters.
|Says Mike at 8 1/2 on the back -
is this Janice Reece Emerson's
|I think this might be Dee Dee (Denise)
who was Lucille Reece Batton's oldest,
but am just not certain....do you know?
|4 random photos of babies. Most likely
great grand children of Zeb and Vallie
Reece - recognize anyone?
|One last unknown child, again,
probably a grand child of Zeb and
Vallie Reece - I would love to put a
name to these.
|Strangers in the Box
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, or when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.
